The Festival of Two Worlds in Spoleto takes place from June 26 to July 12 this year, and treats its audience to 17 days of great entertainment, with operas, concerts, ballets, recitals, plays, along with film exhibitions, workshops, conferences, encounters, awards, contests, special events, and a close look at contemporary art as well.

In this 58th edition, the Festival of Spoleto confirms its original backbone and the prestige of a major international event. Historically speaking, it has always been a meeting place of different cultures, and still today offers an established showcase to great artists and those emerging, and above all, it is a non-stop workshop of original productions.

Under the guidance of Giorgio Ferrara, in his eighth year as artistic director, the Festival of Spoleto once again opens its unique venues where, every summer, the great stage arts from all over the world converge. An encounter which holds the thread of the conversation between past and present, avant-garde and tradition, new generations and legends, remaining faithful to the quality and excellence of the proposals and opening its borders to all the most vital and interesting artistic expressions.

These are the words that Giorgio Ferrara has dedicated to the event this year: "An old appointment that is renewed, but never alike, if not in the venues and the love for what is beautiful. An appointment to re-encounter the sounds of voices and music, to get lost in the insistent cries of the swallows high up in the squares, in these alleys of shade and sunshine".

The Festival of Spoleto has the support of those who strongly believe in the forcefulness and courage of culture. First of all, the Ministry of Heritage, Culture and Tourism which continues to firmly believe and invest in the Festival, the institutions of the territory - Umbria Region, Town of Spoleto, the Chamber of Commerce of Perugia - participating in a spirit of close and prolific collaboration, of private foundations - Cassa di Risparmio di Spoleto Foundation, Carla Fendi Foundation and Rome Art-Museums Foundation - new protagonists of Italian patronage, of the banking institutions - Banca Popolare di Spoleto of the group Banco Desio and Casse di Risparmio dell’Umbria of the group Intesa San Paolo - that give their precious support, of the firms - in particular Eni, Monini, Mercedes-Benz Italy - that make a special effort to maintain their commitment to partnership and sponsorship, of the sponsor of the project Poste Italiane that has joined this year. The Rai Italian TV renews its presence at the Festival this year with a media partnership agreement, reserving the demonstration of specific programming on RaiNews24, Rai Cultura 

(Rai5 and Rai Storia), RaiRadio 3, as well as the portal www.rainews.it with daily Live connections, interviews and services.

The Festival’s collaboration with prestigious Italian art institutions continues in order to achieve objectives of common interest in the field of entertainment: the Ravenna Festival, the Teatro Coccia of Novara Foundation, the Teatro Metastasio Stabile of Prato. This year, these are joined by the international art twinning with the Beiteddine Art Festival with the intent of creating a common cultural platform for the Middle East and Europe.

Fernando Botero, artist of undisputed international success, is the author of the poster that is the image of the 58th edition of the Festival of Two Worlds in Spoleto this year.

In recent years, the Festival of Spoleto has continued to grow, becoming an interpreter of this day and age, in the awareness and hope that even art must and can do its share. In this perspective, the Festival of Spoleto also makes its contribution so that art lovers needn’t do without, so that everyone can continue to cultivate their passions and become part of a virtuous circle that must not break. Therefore, in addition to the numerous promotions already active for the purchase of tickets and confirming the proposal of providing 5,000 tickets at a price of €1 for less favored spectators, the Festival has decided to adopt a new pricing policy to make the event that has always been considered the most special and unique of the event, the final concert, accessible with ticket prices ranging from €10 for standing room to € 70 euro for the gold sector. A "revolutionary" and concrete signal that firmly places culture at the center of everyone’s life.
