The Chamber Music Concerts are dedicated to two of the main French composers of the 20th century: Maurice Ravel and Olivier Messiaen. The program includes Ravel´s entire Chamber Music and Piano Compositions, and Messiaen´s Quatuor pour la fin du temps, the Catalogue des oiseaux, and the voice and piano cycle Harawi, compositions that all together offer an idea of the personality of one of the greatest composers of the 20th century. And a way to celebrate, additionally, Messiaen´s bicentenary.
Musicians and singers are of the utmost prestige: pianists Andrea Lucchesini, Jeffrey Swann, Alexander Tharaud and Massimiliano Damerini, violinists Marco Rizzi and Gabriele Pierannunzi, cello player Mario Brunello, soprano singer Alda Caiello, the Savinio Quartet, and clarinettist Gabriele Mirabassi. The Teatro Lirico Sperimentale of Spoleto will be presenting a few of its youngest talents to the festival´s audience, thanks to a collaboration that over the years will be reinforced. | tuesday, july 1 Andrea Lucchesini, piano Marco Rizzi, violin Mario Brunello, cello Gabriele Mirabassi, clarinet and the participation of actor Giuseppe Cederna, reading a text by Sandro Cappelletto Olivier Messiaen, Quatuor pour la fin du temps, for violin, clarinet, cello and piano (1941)
