| The “Golden Tickets for Theater” Award was conceived by Agis in 1984 and took place until 1997 – initially at the Ancient Theater of Taormina and then in Rome, at the Quirino Theater, finally in Parma, at the Farnese Theater and at the Regio Theater. All editions had a vast media echo and boasted the participation of artists, authors and directors of Italian theater at the highest level. Also the audience’s presence was always considerable. | After a period of interruption, the “Golden Tickets for Theater” has been launched again with the 2007/2008 season and takes place, upon request of the Ministry for Arts and Culture, on Friday, July 11, 2008 at the Teatro Romano of Spoleto, under the supervision of Agis and Eti, and in collaboration with the Festival of the Two Worlds of Spoleto.
The “Golden Tickets for Theater” are assigned based upon the number of tickets sold by theater shows, according to the different genres and typology of production, distribution and theater companies, following the Borsa Teatro charts published by the “Giornale dello Spettacolo” in collaboration with Siae. The awards are bestowed according to a regulation approved by a committee, presided by the Ministry General Manager of live performances and made up of the Presidents of Agis, ETI, SIAE, and the Festival of the Two Worlds of Spoleto Foundation.
