They’re preparing for their post-academic life. Brilliant students, they leave their countries to spend a year in Paris or Toulouse. The year seems to be a true challenge. Their friendship has just begun but for Paul it’s already love. Their ambitious mothers will not let the birth of a passion derail the planned course of careers and lifes. The two boys live with their mothers, Marianne and Irène, while their fathers, always very absent, are distant from their wives and sons. This transition period, where everything is experienced so intensely, is also full of danger and deception. An atmosphere similar to “Spring Awakening” by Frank Wedeking. Paul’s love is rejected by Jean-Louis who on the other hand is involved in a rape. Meanwhile, the boys’ mothers develop a friendship that’s destined to last. |
