As small portraits vaguely hinted, these stories narrate and recall the difficulty of loving and being loved. "I met Judith Magre for the first time in a brasserie and immediately her glance, the sound of her voice, her enchanting intelligence, her funny and witty ways amazed me. Right away I felt the urge to write something for her, listen to her voice, as special as an opera singer´s. I dreamt, imagined, built a mosaic of stories and games all around her. Histoire d’hommes is about women who talk about men, a combination of stories, feelings, petit chansons. It talks about love in all its shades. And when love vanishes, what´s left is a vast void of solitude throughout which Magre wanders, among the memories of stories that are now flakes, fragments. And men appear and disappear, as real ghosts." Xavier Durringer |
