Born in Brussels from a family of artists, Tamara Triffez has always followed, with innate passion, the diverse artistic expressions. First she was a stage actress, then devoted herself to photography. Being an aspiring storyteller in contemporary version, she sometimes expresses herself even through sequences of photograph music videos. She has lived in Rome for years, the city where she returns to after her numerous trips to produce photo essays. She is a great connoisseur of the East, her images look at things and people "from the inside because, like all great travellers, Tamara is an artist who moves to eye people very closely, indeed to probe for possibility of identification" (Claudio Strinati); "Her privileged insight pays particular attention to the rapport with memory and past, orienting it like a report of the meeting with others of different traditions and cultures" (Barbara Martusciello).
As an artist, she opposes, and will always oppose, the deletion of cultural legacies which, although different in different parts of the world, are intrinsic to the very existence of man. And as an artist, her gaze goes to the small and big things of this world, trying to portray the emotions with the clear conscience that the fiction of art is one way to stay honest with yourself and with the world. Tamara Triffez has participated in international assistance programs and research in the field of human rights and has displayed photographic exhibits in Italy and abroad.
The exhibit Behind the Scenes is a study of intimacy in theater which began during the 56th edition of the Festival of Two Worlds in Spoleto with Tamara Triffez’s direct observation; her search of intimate moments, not on stage, but back stage, in the dressing rooms, during the stage make-up sessions and the rehearsals of shows. In addition to the images, her "photographic music video" recounts everything that rotates around the shows: the audiences, the events, the premieres.
