More than twenty years ago, in 1993, Robert Wilson carried out the installation with the title Memory/Loss at the Venice Biennale and was awarded with the Golden Lion. Now thanks to the Festival of Spoleto, the collaboration between the art critic Achille Bonito Oliva and the creative/productive structure of Change Performing Arts, led by Franco Laera and Elizabeth di Mambro, has been renewed.
The "crossovers" of the second edition of "Sconfinamenti", amongst art, theater, dance, music and cinema, - after last year’s success which presented cornerstone artists of multimedia crossovers such as Peter Greenaway and Shirin Neshat - will aim at exploring international artists of the younger generation. Particular attention will be paid to the relationship between the visual arts and dance, transforming the spaces of the splendid Rocca Albornoz into a creative, pulsating workshop for the entire length of the Festival.
Contradicting the tendency of the younger generation to an invasive use of high-tech technologies, this time the choice of the curators is oriented towards artists that are not affected by these technologies, but in search of a poetic dimension that, on the contrary, deliberately resorts to the display of naive low-tech technology.
With the amazing installations in situ of Sconfinamenti # 2, the Festival of Spoleto confirms the tendency of being always more a mine of creation and not just a prestigious international showcase.
