The documentary "Gian Carlo Menotti Maestro of Two Worlds" - written and directed by Melo Freni - was shot in Scotland in the house inhabited by Menotti at Yester.
The Maestro tells his life from childhood to his arrival in Spoleto, passing through his stays in Philadelphia and New York.
The narrative is enriched by inserts from the works of Menotti, which he himself indicates, from: "Maria Golovin", "The Medium", "The Saint of Bleecker Street", "The Consul", "Martin′s Lie" and "Amahl and the night visitors".
At the heart of the documentary, a supplement of an interview taped instead in Spoleto, where the Maestro recalls memories of the young musicians who took turns conducting the orchestras, from Thomas Schippers to Steven Mercurio, that is from 1958 to 1981, the date of his 70th birthday.
A unique testimony that effectively summarizes the life of the man and the artist, as told by he himself, on the border between memory and future hopes.
